October 18 Foraging Walk & Tasting: Edible, Medicinal & Poisonous Fungi, Plants and Herbs

Interested in learning how to identify mushrooms and other delicious local wild edibles? Join me on a relaxing walk in the woods! This class is perfect for the forager/mushroom enthusiast, outdoor enthusiast, foodie or vegetarian. We will review how to properly identify mushrooms and wild edibles, discuss sustainable harvesting and local laws and collect specimens to study. Learn 15-20 mushroom species that are available now, as well as a variety of non-edible/poisonous fungi, plants and herbs and perhaps even take some home with you to enjoy!
The walk will be followed by a tasting featuring some of my most recent food and drink concoctions – wild sodas, shrub drinks, jams, jellies, pickles and more! While we sip and sample, we will review how you can make the same delicious recipes at home.
